You definitely don’t want to miss your chance to catch a band that got its start with huge names like The Pixies, Sonic Youth, and Nirvana. Their melodic guitar solos and heavy feedback sound is reminiscent of the early 90′s. Tickets are $26 in advance or $30 at the door. It’s a new year and it’s time for some new parties in the Magic City. The Blackbird Ordinary recently opened where Transit Lounge used to be and they’re making their mark on the scene with a bangin’ Tuesday night party called Lifted. The party is being kicked off with a plethora of local DJ’s like Louie Arson, DZA, and Mike Deuce that will have the music ranging from Hip-Hop to Disco to Funk and anything else you could possibly want to hear. Hosted by Soarse Spoken and Lady J Femme and with resident DJ’s Keen One and Elle spinning every week there is no reason to not be there every Tuesday. Party starts at 10 so come early because there will be plenty of give aways and drink specials going on all night. See you guys there!

We were at Basel Castle this year and caught all the great acts, (Video coming soon) but Yelawolf stole the show and with Craze behind him it was no wonder. In the middle of the set we were treated to just a taste of why Dj Craze is so fucking amazing. If you couldn’t make it in, or just got to fed up with the never ending line, heres your chance to see one of the best moments of the night.

We were able to get an interview with Housse de Racket before their U.S Debut tonight at The Fillmore with Yelle. Check it out!

Who are you biggest influences?
HDR: We’ve got plenty of influences ! From Stevie Wonder to Depeche Mode, from Prince to Morricone. Right now, we’re really into The Sparks and Jay-Z, quite eclectic !

What has been your favorite performance?
HDR: We played once in London for Halloween, and it was a special night.

Whats your favorite drink?
HDR: Champagne

What are you looking forward to in your visit to Miami?
HDR: It’s gonna be a very short time in Miami but we do want to have a cocktail at the Raleigh !
The Miami show will be our very first gig in the US, so it will be remembered.

If you had to give up one thing for the rest of your life would it be TV or Internet? Why?
HDR: Definitely TV because we’d never been able to play in Miami without Internet.

If you headlined a tour next month who would open for you?
HDR: Housse de Racket under the secret name of “Los Mustachos”.

It seems that the music aspect of Basel is on the rise with more musician flocking down for the art every year.
